This is an odd question but I'm trying to find what the i side of a CB looks like and where their stomach is located. Not only do I want to learn more about the fish but I also want to make sure it's my bone skinny. I just purchased one and can't tell if he's eaten or not. (He picks at the live rock all day and I leave a clam for him every few days to eat)

All my fish are fat fat fat but as much as I feed my cbb's they always look skinny and under fed. I even go the extra mile and feed them again when it's dark and only they are out hunting while the others sleep. Also they eat live black worms and all kinds of frozen food and eat well. My point is, they won't fatten up like other fish do.

Sunken stomach or abdomen areas and noticeable bone structure visible from the side profile are how I tell with thinner fish such as CBB

Yea I understand I was just wondering where the stomach was located on this fish though. Mine seems to have a very full round middle section in comparison to its body but the bottom area of the body is a bit thin. Just curious if this area was the stomach or possibly the bladder. Thanks for the feedback though

That's a good idea to feed when the lights are out, I'll have to try it. I'm having a hard time feeding mine with frozen food as my tang just swoops in and steals it before the CB even flinches. I've only had him 4 days and only seen him eat off the live rock and nibble at a clam I put in today but that's it. I'm not worried yet but will be soon.

Just teach him to eat out of your hand and you can get him as much to eat as he wants!

Seriously they don't ever look as fat as other fish just due to their anatomy. They shouldn't look sunk in any where though.

This is actually great advice. Thinking back when i was first getting mine used to the tank I had him eating from a turkey Baster. Once it learns that's where the food comes from he will be first to the table. Most other fish won't come near as close.

I've tried the turkey baster but unfortunately already feed with one so the fish got crazy around it. I will defiantly try my hand though that's a great idea!! Thanks!
