Copperband white spots

Hello guys!
I got a Copperband today After seeing him eating frozen food like crazy at my LFS.
He is swimming around and is very chill and eating like a maniac but i See some kind of white spots on his tail. Could someone help me identify what it is please?
Maybe ich or is it something to worry about? I run UVC and feed frozen and flakes with vitamins and garlic.

Looks like it could be ich but it would be much better for you to take a photo in the white light for better diagnosis.

The good news is you have a copperband butterfly eating , that’s great !!! . The bad news is the pic is not clear to diagnose what might be on the tail . My guess might be ick !

Could just be Lymph which is quite common on these guys. Harmless for the most part and goes away with good diet and parameters Keep an eye on orange stripes. If it’s ick, it’s hard to see on light colored fish.

Thank you very much ! yeah i try to get a better one but i think i don’t get a Good one Right now this is what i got now with the roomlights on for a second i Try to get tomorrow a better one but u also saw Right now that there is a Little „dark“ or Black Spot also

Not ich but lymphocystis which is Not parasitical but rather viral and often associated with poor water quality and/or diet. The water quality can be that of the LFS you purchased fish from.
Offering Good water quality and diet will allow the nodules you see to fall off on their own.
Mine is an eating machine and some of the foods it like is:
- Massticks
-Spirulina brine shrimp
- LRS Herbivore diet
- mysis shrimp
- small plankton
- Hikari Marine cuisine
- Formula 2 frozen
- Hikari veggie marine
- 1/2 clam on shell

Biggest problem with these guys is usually eating and bacterial infections. (Redness on sides of fish). But could be Ick.

when my Copperband had lympho after I got it… the early stages looked just like that. It later got bigger cauliflower edges on its fins. Cleared up with good nutrition and low stress.

i got mine today its in the Tank for about 7 Hours and as i feed me Other fishes he already ate very active mysis and artemia - and i put masstick on the glas because my melanurus wrasse loves it but Till now he didnt look at it , but we will See thanks again

Thank you very much ! Yeah he was in a really small Tank at the lfs and he said he is allready there for 2 weeks so Maybe it was the Stress the Last 2 Weeks and will get better now but atleast he is eating like Crazy

So that means low stress good diet and Good water will fix it with Time Right ? I think/Hope stress isnt a Problem Right now he is in a 130gallon Tank with a melanurus wrasse- firefish and 3 anthias

Thanks for the effort but from any of these pictures I can’t tell . Maybe tomorrow when the whites come on in the tank you may get a better picture.

I think its really hard to see. And I saw the 'dark spot as well'.

Did you QT the fish? (medicate) - any other fish sick? Do you have a hospital tank?

Lymphocystis can come on with change in parameters/stress
CI can come on with change in parameters/stress

Lymphocystis tends to be more discrete lesions which are larger (caused by a virus) - tends to be on body
CI is usually 'grains of salt' appearing - and tends to be on fins and body

Lypmphocystis usually goes away on its own (with improved parameters)
CI CAN go away on its own - but often needs treatment in a hospital tank with copper

If you look carefully - if the spots change location - thats more likely to be CI than lymphocystis. I.e. if one day there is a spot in the middle of the tail - and the next day its gone - and there are 3 spots on the pectoral fins thats likely to be CI

Any other symptoms?

Trying to give you all the info - because to me - the white tail against the white sand is difficult to assess.

If you decide you need to treat - I would treat ALL of the fish in the tank - as directed on whatever product you use - and leave your display fallow (no fish) - for 45 or 76 days - depending on what protocol you decide to use.

Remember early velvet can also look a little like this - watch very carefully for other symptoms. Best of luck - copper bands are certainly fantistic fish!

Thank you for that great answer ! No i didnt QT him because the LFS did it allready and then he was in Display for 2 weeks. No other Symptoms he is eating well swimming around and is chill. I tried to get better pics now and hope it helps with identification sry for the Pic spam now but i hope more helps more haha

i Feed frozen artemia- mysis- lobster eggs- red plankton- formula 2 frozen- prime reef frozen - masstick- with galric oil anf Fish V from AF

till now he only ate artemia and mysis but will See what else he will eat.
