Copperband

Hi to everyone!
I bought a Copperband recently and she arrived yesterday in quite a state. Unfortunately after setting up my hospital tank I noticed it had started leaking from seals I couldn’t leave her in the bag so I either had to euthanize her or put her in the DT and there was no way I was going to kill the fish. Call me crazy or not it’s just not in me I have uploaded photos for you all you look at. After looking at her I’m not sure if it’s Fin Rot or Whitespot or maybe something else. Would be grateful for any help and advice on the best treatment for her and I guess I’ll have to treat all my fish now just in case.
I am really angry with the store I bought her from I will go into details later but I’m more concerned about my fish now as if she is contagious she’ll infect my other fish. Can anyone please help and advise on the best treatment. Would be forever grateful and thanks.

If you notice any changes in the tail shape, or if it looks like it's getting "eaten away" then it is likely bacterial. Unfortunately, if it is bacterial then you would have to isolate and treat.

PS Beautiful fish and I think you did the right thing trying to save it!

Why not use a 5 gallon bucket as a Qt. Works great. Putting a new fish in with our Qt is like playing Russian Roulette

I agree that it looks like lympho. Quality foods and clean water and it should clear up on its own.

It is contagious, but rarely causes serious issues and it’s viral so nothing you can do but wait it out...

What's done is done. Good on you for saving the CBB. Is it eating?

I use vita-chem. The bottle says you can add it to the water column, but I feel like that’s probably a waste. I just soak my food in it instead.

If he’s not eating yet, obviously that’s your first priority...

I am not sure as my other fish are ganits and they swarm the food.

They can be very timid eaters initially. Consider trying some of this. You mix it with food and stick it on the tank walls, shells, rocks, etc. CBBs like pecking at it. And if the other fish are swarming the regular food, use that as a decoy to feed your CBB or put the Masstick in a couple of places around the tank.

My ccb had lymp too. Very common in those fish. From the photos it looks bacterial. Get nfg and and a 10 gallon tank. Do 14 days of nfg with a 25% water change a day. That will relax the fish and take care of most bacterial issues.

Feeding is tough. Your best bet is live black worms. If you can't find live black worms (freshwater stores). You can try frozen blood worms. Butterfly's love worms. Always do frozen. They rarely eat pellets. They will also eat chopped up clam and mysis. Worms are a staple though.
