I really want to get a CBB and my LFS has gotten two giant ones in from Australia. Both are eating live brine, which is a good start. They are between 4-5". My problem ( I think) is, I have two MI, one also being in the 6" range. Would I have any issues between the two?

I had both in my tank for a short period, didn't witness any aggression. Moorish Idol just died one day no apparent reason even though it are like a horse

I don't have any experience with thos two together, but I have had a Moorish idol that was aggressive toward other deep bodied fish, angels and butterflies, so I would be willing to wager that a conditioned Moorish idol would be aggressive to a copperband.

I kept a CBB & MI together many years ago, but it was in a very large tank (350 gals). Along with a batfish and an assortment of other fish. Never noticed any aggression between the two, but the MI was very timid and a PITA to feed - the entire 5+ years I had him.

My tank is a 250, so I think its big enough. My MI's eat seaweed and ROE every day and a lot of it. I just don't want to start any kind of war if I add a similar bodied fish.

Just make sure you have a backup plan for one or the other if things go south. All fish have their own unique personalities and anything can happen when you mix them together (just like with humans). Somewhere on here there's a thread about a MI puncturing a butterfly's gills with it's snout.

Similar body size, the mi could be agressive to shy cbb making it not eat and leading to issues...

My cbb is really shy and he won't eat if my yellow tang is near so there's that

If you do decide to try it I would definetly use an acclimation box.

Still debating. A LFS had giant ones for $150...I know it's alot, which is why I was torn. Now they have smaller ones that are eating mysis for $40. I really want one, but I still don't know what to do.
