im looking for coppersafe for my QT but it appears its sold out everywhere online... anybody know what gives? Anything other than ionic copper thats a good substitute? Thanks!

A pair of young clowns. Then a little while later maybe another small fish... i only have a 20 gallon tank. I was origonally going to dose cupramine but then i realized it has a smaller theraputic window and i heard its actually harder on fish. At this point i dont really know what to do. I just want to treat my new fish properly so that i have a great chance of success with them. I appriciate all the feedback here!

Clowns tolerate copper really well. So any type will work. I personally have much better luck with copper power.

Testing is the part of using copper that is critical. I cannot emphasize that enough. Make sure you get the comprible test kit for whatever type of copper you purchase.

This may be very helpful to you. It's a chart many members compiled based on their experiences with the tank transfer method, ionic copper, chelated copper and chloroquine phosphate.

Copper power and coppersafe are both chelated forms of copper.

Cupramine and cuprion are ionic forms of copper.

Chelated copper can be tested with the API test kit. Or the Hanna high range copper checker.

Ionic can be tested with salifert or seachem test kits. Hanna checker also works well.

I have tested all above with the Hanna checker. All are very consistent, except coppersafe. I would not recommend the use of coppersafe without a Hanna checker on hand.

Thanks. I think ill get an API kit with the copper power. Just to be clear copper power is made by a company called Endich and is the blue liquid right? Also, what concentration (in ppm) should i target for my 30 day treament? Any idea what the minimum is on the theaputic level, i want to be sure if i fall below to start my 30 days over again. I also plan on ramping it up to full strenght slowly. Thanks
