Is anyone running this Neptune pump on a 170? If so, what percentage are you running it at? I’m trying to dial mine in.

Also, I’m not able to get the water up higher than the arrow on the picture. Is this normal?

When I set up my RS 750, it was going over the drains unless I had the pump too strong.

What percentage IQ do you have set? What kind of flow rate do want on your RSR 170?
100 GPH?? I would pick up a 1 Inch Apex Flow Sensor, and dial the flow in that way.

This is what I set it at last night.

This is going to be for a nem tank. I’m not sure if I want the flow to be adjusted throughout the day or stay at one constant speed.

I had a 1” flow sensor on my RS 750. I wasn’t too impressed with it so I took it off.

So before I moved all my gear and tank filtration to my basement for my main display, I had my Cor20 running at 1% Min and 25% max. That got me about 150 GPH on my RSR250 using 3/4 inch tubing. I think the RSR170 is half the size tank. I wonder what your flow rate is at 40% and with the Cor15.... I would clean the one inch flow sensor and install it on the new tank....

Also I always run at constant speed, never vary... That's what Vortech's or power heads are for. Changing Main pump speeds would cause my ATK to go nuts.

Remember when your at 10% on the schedule, that's 10% of 40%. You may not get much flow.

Ok. I reset it for 58% straight across so it won’t fluctuate. I’ll give this a try and see what happens. I replaced the stock plumbing and put a gate valve instead. I’m getting a lot of gurgling right now.

You mean 58% of 40%???? So it's probably running at 23% . Just an FYI. Just ditch the hourly schedule and set max IQ to 25% and Run the Cor at 100%

You can just delete everything on that Schedule after the first line.

By the way, you can code COR15 to set feed mode to 1%.

100% is how I run mine. You can use IQ to adjust flow for feeding. Just enough to hold it without overflow or all off for quicker reset.

Really, 100%? I set it at 25% tuned the overflow valve and finally got it super quite.

Yes, 100%. I have a pair of them. About to buy a 3rd. I have one on my return and one on my skimmer. If something was to happen to the return then I could take the skimmer offline and swap it out in less than a couple minutes. I used to run the skimmer at 80% and the return at 75 or so using the IQ wizard thingy. Then I started to think why. So now they run at 100%.

I like the idea of the IQ to lower the power to prevent back-siphon. But I didn't see a reason to reduce other than that in my application which is a 210 gallon. I may if I pick up the 3rd. I have two returns and one right now is capped off. I am thinking about adding another sea swirl to that 2nd return I mentioned that I capped. This way I could have a proper backup if you will.

So far the Cor 15 has been pretty reliable. Only issue I've had is when I cleaned it the last time. That little o-ring is a real pain in the rear to set properly. I powered it on after thinking it was set and I got the power ! warning or over current I guess it is. Anyway had to turn off, take apart, and that was the problem. Great pump so far although not sure it is the most powerful of DC pumps. But I like it.
