COR-20 housing cracked or is it a critter....

Had a look through my sump to see what’s going on and found this on the return pump:

Looks almost like an aluminum bloom and is directly at the seem of the to plastic parts. Wondering if this is something organic or the seem is cracked.....has anybody seen this or is this actually a critter?

Poked it, it came lose, of gelatin consistency, will see what happens next...
