COR 20 RPM Observation

My COR 20 runs about 2600 rpms at 100%. During feed mode I have the pump set to 1%, but the rpms only drops to 1600. 1% would be 26 rpms, not 1600.

Anyone else see anything similar, or know the why it's like this?

What happens with the RPM if you drop it to something like 10% or 15%?

15% runs at 1715 rpms. Which should be 390 based off a 2600 max I see at 100%.

The WAV pumps do the same thing. With the WAV there is an allowable flow range and you are adjusting the percentage within that range. I’d assume the return pumps are probably the same way.

I keep my Cor20 at 50%. RPM’s are 2510

mine is also at 50%, rpm is 2511.

how long has it been running since new or last cleaning?

That's weird. That's only 100 rpms less than mine at 100%.

My pump has been running for about a month. Recent purchase.

maybe defective product, ask retailer or manufacturer to replace it. could be some electronic fault with the control unit.

Maybe instead of asking to replace it open a ticket, ask the question, and see what the response is. This way if there are issues a ticket is open for reference.

It is easy to set the pump to a percent / power level, reach into the display and put ones hand in front of the return, and feel. Then increase the number again and repeat. Increasing should generate more flow obviously lower less. Remember plumbing and pipe size will play a role as well as intake screen if used.

You're not adjusting the RPM of the pump only the voltage that it is running at, 24v being max.

The RPM's is also not going to be the same from one system to another even if they are running at the same voltage because of too many variables involved with head losses and back pressure.

RPMs do not linearly correlate to %. The percent is of the operating range, where 100% is the maximum and 1% is the minimum speed the pump will run at. No DC pump in the market is going to run and move water at such a slow speed of 26 RPM.

The minimum RPM of a COR is about 800 RPM with default settings. However, if you have set COR IQ-Level min and max (like the COR Setup Task walks you through), then the min and max speeds will be tailored for your installation, and the redefined 1% speed will likely be higher in RPM, like the 1600 RPM @vtecintegra mentioned.
