So what’s problematic about the o-ring? I picked the the cor so it can easily integrate with my Apex and like u said one less plug.. I wish the Vectra can be controlled with the apex but they didn’t want it that way and I would hate to have to get the reeflink to control it.Question - what makes you pick the Cor?
There are a few active threads, one today, with regards to the option of feedback of a Cor return pump. Short answer from me is they are good. They are heavy, they are built very well, they have thick casings, and they come with unions for plumbing. I have 2 x Cor 15's and 1 x Cor 20. All are going strong without any issues. One 15 is for my skimmer, another for return along with the 20. 1 cor 15 was enough clow for my 210 gallon tank with two 1" sea swirls. However, I wanted to remove the XF250 Gyres so added the random flow nozzels and noticed the Sea Swirl with the further plumbing run wasn't flowing the way I wanted. I figured might as well implement redundency (sort of had it by using the Cor 15 on my skimmer but anyway), saw the Cor 20's go on sale, so picked one up. That is running on the sea swirl with the longest plumbing run.
When both are at 100% it can be a bit much which is ok for now since my tank is still maturing. Having said that what I've done is use the Apex OSC function (I think that is what it is called) on a virtual outlet and named it Tide. Every 6 hours it will alternate on/off which then lets me configure the return pumps to alter flow on the left and right side which simulates high and low tide. So in short the pumps are good or have at least been so for me.
Someone in another thread did point out that when cleaning them the o-ring in the pump is a bit problematic and I would agree. But still if asked I always recommend them. They are good. Vectra's are also good or similar named brand pumps. Just depends on what you want to do. What drew me to the Cor 15 at first was the integration with Apex and how it doesn't need a power brick or cord since it ties into the system / buss.
I've been meaning to send Neptune support a message about it and asking if there is a silicon or other lubricant that may help. Not sure but in anycase as I said I have 3 Cor pumps so obviously like them outside this one issue.Gotcha... thank u for your Honest review..The o-ring is just difficult to stay in place when you put the unit back together. Just a minor annoyance really but something that does iratate me a bitI've been meaning to send Neptune support a message about it and asking if there is a silicon or other lubricant that may help.
