Cor20 overcur error problem

Starting yesterday, one of my 2 cor20 return pumps shuts down with an “overcur” error displayed in fusion. (This pump has been running <6 months.) The pump will turn on a few minutes and then back off throughout the day. 5th indicator LED blinking which means impeller blocked.
I opened pump to reveal no blockage and still having same error. I have unplugged it power, moved aquabus cables and still not working.
What else can I try? Thank you.

i get this error if i turn the pump all the way off, when i turn it on. seems to be some physical interference between the impeller and the volute.

i took a dremel and sanded the face of the impeller and the plastic ring in the center of the volute.

Make sure that you do not over tighten the 4 screws when assembling the pump back.

Disassembled cor again and looks good.
Reassembled with silicone grease to make sure o-ring stayed in place.
Now I’m getting “dry” error code when under water. (Led light 6)

Detached from pvc and released every air bubble trapped inside impeller chamber...and it’s working!

overcurrent happens when the impeller doesn't spin or spins to slow from binding up. i've had to play around with the 4 volute screws to get the impeller to spin freely. i've literally had to have the volute housing almost loose.

I have messed around with having the screws very loose, same “overcur” problem.

Experiment now in progress:
had a crusty old cor20 spare in deep storage, so connected it to the problem cor power supply and its running no errors in a mixing tub.
If this old cor pump doesn’t give the “overcur” error then something has to be wrong with the new pump itself.
I’ll dig around the web, but does Neptune offer a repair / warranty service?

Upon removing the check valve union from the problem cor, I see the gasket is missing!
Surely this wouldn’t cause “overcur”, right? Hahaha

Seems like I would have found that...unless it got pushed up the return line. Maybe will find stuck in lock line someday.

The check valve union was screwed on so tight, I’m not capable of that strength. So it was either my dear hubby or the guy helping me with initial pvc cut/gluing/installing.

The spare cor is currently working as return pump like a champ!
