I could use some advice for stocking my tank with coral. I am considering getting World Wide Coral's Reef Starter Pack #2 and their LPS pack. Is there anything in these packs that would cause concern for taking over a tank? Anything that needs to be isolated on an island?

Any opinions would be great.

Here are the pictures just for others to help weigh in.

The only one I would worry about is the Neon PipeOrgan in the reef starter pack. Corals in the xenia family can take over a tank if left unchecked. I dont put those type of corals in my tank anymore, but thats just me. Some people really like them. Theres a lot of encrusting corals in there but a good mix all the way around. Ive been in WWC shop before, and that place doesnt disappoint when it comes to colors.

Thanks, I should have thought about posting them, I appreciate it !

Those are my biggest concern but I also want to make sure I'm not missing anything. It seems like WWC has a great reputation. This looks like a great way to really kick off a mixed reef tank.

If I'm not mistaken, the pipe organ has a more skeleton type structure and shouldn't spread like a xenia. I don't see anything intrusive in those packs unless I'm wrong on the pipes.

No GSP or blue clove polyps, so I would say you are ok!

If any of those corals decide to take over your tank, you should be thrilled! And you will know that you are doing an excellent job. Then it will be time to start a frag tank and start making some bank to buy even more corals!!:D

Thanks! Those were my biggest issue with Reef Starter pack #1. I'd love the extra growth short term but I want to set myself up for long term success. I just need help to do it. The forum has really helped with that!

Be sure to isolate the cloves, they will take over a tank in no time;)

I've already decided I will never purposely put cloves in my tank. :)
That is why I like these 2 packs, don't contain cloves but the pipe organs look very similar.

I thought the picture showed cloves but if it's a Pipe Organ then yes, you'll be golden.

Looking for some advice on some corals for my tank. I would like to have colorful and active coral and yes I am a newbie.
