I have had this tank for 2 years (bought already set up). In the last year I have added a Lawnmower Blenny, no corals or anything else.

A couple days ago I did a huge clean up of the tank. Removed a bunch of GHA. Looked at the tank today and seen this. It has never been there before.

It is about as big around as a pencil.

Anyone have any idea what it may be (guessing I may have to wait until it gets bigger to get a positive ID). My daughter thinks it may be a sun coral?

Yea, I agree it's some sort of anemone.
Sun polyps don't have a base like that.

Thanks!

Wow, it is amazing how stuff can just appear in a tank. Never had any kind of anemone in the tank, or seen any in it. And we have spent many hours in front of this tank inspecting every inch of it.

Have you recently bought any corals or rocks? That how they usually get in

No, the only thing added in the last year is the Lawnmower Blenny. Added a mushroom coral before that over a year ago. And it came off the frag plug so it was just the mushroom and nothing else added. No other rocks, sand, frags, etc...
