Coral banded shrimp

Can anyone tell me if a coral banded shrimp and a cleaner shrimp will be okay in the same tank (38gallon) 60lb live rock, also I heard coral banded will eat aptasia - is this true ?

They may get along or the coral banded may kill the cleaner. Just one of those risky things that may or may not work. Long term I'd lean towards it not working out.

Coral bandeds will not eat Aiptasia. Peppermint shrimp are the ones that eat Aiptasia.

I'd say, no, it wouldn't work. Coral Banded Shrimp are territorial and I don't think the tank is big enough.

So which would everyone recommend? The banded or the cleaner?

Cleaner shrimp are real cool, especially if you get two of them. They stay out in the open and they get pretty big when mature. If you keep two of them they'll stay full of eggs. I've actually had some hatch before. I have both kinds of shrimp (in different tanks). The coral banded will eat most of your bristle worms, so that's a plus, but it stays hidden most of the time. The cleaner will hop on my powder blue and go for a bucking bronco ride which is cool too. I'd say go with two cleaners.

i had a cleaner and a coral banded in my tank for about 2 years and they got along but on opposite sides of my tank and that was in a 38 gallon. but as others stated it may or may not work. coral banded shrimps can be very teritorial.

Honestly I have a pair of coral banded, HATE them, they pick the food out of corals, started trying to bully clowns, not a fan of them, they are going this week for a pair of cleaner shrimp. Honestly I'm not a fan of coral banded shrimp at all anymore.

Thanks for the advice everyone, I think i'll just get another cleaner shrimp and scrap the coral banded . Cheers!

I had a friend that worked for a Reef Shop in Knoxville, TN that told me about an employee putting two coral banded shrimp in a tank with about 30 cleaners. The next morning, only the coral bandeds were left. I think I'd stay away from that one.
