Hey guys. I just purchased a coral banded shrimp and it seems like every lps coral and anemone is trying to kill him. I have had him for about two hours and I have already had to rescue him because my rock flower anemone grabbed his antenna as well as an Acan. Is this normal? I thought shrimp were reed safe. Any advice?

He is being eaten by an Acan as we speak. He already lost both his claws

Sorry to read this. Thanks for sharing, I hesitated in buying my first shrimp today because I hadn't done enough research.

A healthy shrimp should be able to avoid corals without a problem. Did you acclimate the shrimp long enough?

I was a little pressed for time. About 10 minutes. Not long enough I guess. Will he survive?

Claws should grow back with the next molt. It's not uncommon for shrimp to molt within the first week of introduction. It would just be speculation to guess if the shrimp will make it through acclimation. I am not a fan of hour long drip acclimation but shrimps and snails do better if you acclimate them for 30 to 60 minutes prior to introduction.
