I added a a coral beauty the same day I changed my lights a few days later all the other corals are open except my sps on the rock that i constantly see the CB picking at along with every other surface of the tank though. Do you think its the CB, Lighting or too early to tell?

hi,could be either ,do you have other sps? try to watch closely see if CB is picking at coral.

Dwarf angels are often blamed for coral damage, but my filefish has caused much more (directly observed) damage. I often see my angels pecking at coral, but this usually seems to be an attempt to eat pods, algae, or whatnot on the polyps and not the coral itself. And coral beauties aren't typically known for going after SPS. Still, I suppose anything is possible

i have 2 montis and one other encrusting, some zoas, and the sps on the rock everything else has opened back up but the sps which yes i do see the CB pickling at but he also pecks at every surface and frag plug in the tank.

are you seeing bite marks in sps?
are polyps coming out at night?

It's likely that your CB is looking for anything else near these corals, have you observed any type of mucus around them? I think lighting may be a factor, I have never heard someone say that CB angels eat SPS corals.

he seems extremely interested in the sps ten fold any other coral, rock, area of glass ect. he will loop around the tank come back and stop at the sps almost scan it top to bottom looking for polyp and and will pick at it but have yet to see him actually get one as it hasn't rly come out.

Mine liked to pick at my feather dusters. It may be that he likes the fan like shape of the polyps (if it’s got polyps like that). That was really the only thing in my tank he bothered at all.
