Long story short, I had a coral beauty from divers den that came in very stressed. He never started eating and developed what I assumed to be a fungal infection (cotton like). It was getting around his mouth, which I thought was keeping him from eating. I treated with maracyn plus. He died on day 8 of treatment. Here are some pictures. Do you think fungal/bacterial would be the cause of death? (Just making sure)

I would say he certainly had a bacterial infection, though if that was the ultimate cause of death can't really be determined for sure. There was most certainly a root cause of the infection (ie: ick, flukes ect) that would create a place for the infection to take hold and would lower the fish's immune system at the same time.

Ya the mouth looked similar to that. He never showed any signs of ick, velvet, flukes, ect. This is the second time I've order a fish online (the 1st also died). They seem to just be really stressed when they arrive.
The left fin that looks pretty bad is where it started. After a few days it stopped working and he would prop himself up against a rock or lay on the sand. I just kept hoping the maracyn would clear things up.

I'm gonna try Triple Sulfa the next time I encounter it.
