I saw my dwarf angels eating a blue linkia but I believe it had already died. Are you sure the starfish hadn't already died? Or did it have a necrotic limb.

Oh no, it’s still alive and crawling around my tank. It’s lost three legs and at least a quarter of its center mass. It was only missing one leg this morning. It keeps putting itself in a corner of my tank instead of hiding in the rock.

sounds like the star is just dying. I had a flame angel with a sand star and a coral beauty with a sand star and neither even looked at the sand star

It could be dying and the fish is just nipping at it.

It’s awful active if it’s dying. I pulled it into a separate tank so if it does die it doesn’t get lost in my rocks. The CB can’t pick on it this way too.

I’ve never had a Coral Beauty mess with my starfish either, that’s why I was hoping someone knew something. The star just isn’t acting like he’s dying, at least he wasn’t.

That is kind of how they die sometimes. Slowly melting away one limb at a time.

His legs were bite off, I watched the Coral Beauty chew him up so bad that two of them just fell off. He’s still moving around a lot though. I don’t know what to do for him.
