Coral Beauty Failure

So, I went to another LFS that specializes in Saltwater and is highly recommended here in Tucson. The place is pretty far from me, but they do seem a lot better than the one closer to me and they had two Coral Beauty's and one Flame Angel that looked healthy and were eating frozen foods and seaweed. I decided to get the most active Coral Beauty and have had it for two days now. It is still very active and eating algae all day and night. It nibbles on the mix I feed the other fish but primarily sticks to algae. The problem I have now is that the algae is almost all gone now and it still isn't eating other foods like I would have hoped it would. Will I just have to hope it starts eating more or should I keep the light on extra long to keep growing more algae until I figure out what other foods it will eat?

That sounds good, from what you are saying, he'll likely come around. Considering he is healthy with no internal parasites, and he sounds healthy enough, it's about recognizing the food you are feeding the tank is actually food. In the wild he would only graze, he would not normally eat from the water column, if he is nibbling and with other fish in the tank eating, he'll come around. That's why live foods like pods, brine, and black worms can become an ice breaker. If you have an lfs close with live black worms, he'll love you for it.

Normally they will adapt. Mine did it for about a week and then moved on to frozen foods.

It has been exactly a week and this morning my Coral Beauty ate a majority of the food I put in and I actually had to feed more than I normally do to make sure all the fish had their share. I am pretty confident now that it is eating good, looking good and seems very active all day. Thanks to everyone for the comments and advice!
