Update: I have him moved into a smaller hanging mesh isolation cage inside the hospital tank and a clam is in there with him. That way he is bound to stumble upon it rather than swimming around the full 10 gallon hospital tank. Plus, if he is blind then the PVC fittings for him to hide in are useless to him and really just an obstacle. He found the clam once and yanked off a big piece but is startled him and he hasn't taken a bite since. He's bumped his nose into it several times, but each time he does it startles him and he backs away. Hopefully within the hour he gets over being startled and realizes it's food. It's only been about 20 minutes so I'm gonna keep my fingers crossed and give him some time.
