New lfs opened across the street from work and wanting to support new business i bought a coral beauty there.

Been wanting one and had a fair price for it, got home and noticed a weird spot on it, it does protrude off the scales of the fish and is brownish grey colored . Attached is a short video of the spot

got him in my qt, ill dose prazipro tomorrow and go from there, maybe its just damage from one of the other angels or triggers that they had in tank with him?

Hi, just seeing your post now. Certainly keep the CB isolated for now. That looks like an older bacterial infection, but there is also a slim chance that it is fungal (those are rare in marine fishes).

I would hold him in the QT for 72 hours of observation - watch the size of the lesion. I wouldn't dose prazipro yet, that comes later. If the lesion is stable and the fish is eating well, you should ramp up a copper dose with a good test kit over 48 hours. I would use Coppersafe or Copper Power. After 3 weeks or so, that's when flukes become an issue, and then you should dose with prazi.
