Coral beauty suddenly not very active

Hello!

The past few days I've noticed the coral beauty hanging out a lot at the same spot, just swimming in place rather than swimming around and grazing as usual. Today its pretty much there nonstop, only leaving to eat the food i throw in, but not with the same vigor as usual.

I haven't seen a single spot on it, and i can't tell that anything has changed in terms of it looks.

Nitrates are 0, phosphates 0, ammonia 0.. All other corals and fish are doing fine.

Any idea what I can do? I could move it to my hospital tank, but im not sure the stress would be too good for it?

Its completely stopped eating now within a few hours :-/

I think i might be seeing some small spots showing up. I dont understand though, nothing new has entered the tank for a long time.. Contemplating giving it a FW bath and moving..

And no, poop has looked normal.

Yeah a mix of different frozen, pellets and flakes.

It's belly looks a little bloated/extended compared to my Coral Beauty. Would you say that it's belly has grown compared to ~a week ago?

I am the worst person to give advice about coral beauties. But the first one I tried keeping had the same symptoms as you describe, before it started breathing heavy and died (thread here). Its hard to say if its belly was bigger than normal, but it otherwise had no external signs of distress. The folks in the thread said it might be an internal bacterial infection.

He looks pretty thin, was he eating well before? I’d suspect internal parasites or infection, GC +focus soaked food would be the best treatment...but that would require him to be eating :/

Yeah it was like a labrador, both in terms of personality and when it comes to eating lol. Only thing it refused is nori lol

At least it doesn't seem to have gotten worse since yesterday. I could get my hands on some antibiotics to try treating with that I guess?

If he’s not eating, the only thing you could really try would be to get him into a QT and treat the water with General Cure or metroplex/prazipro and hope enough medicine gets to the gut through the water column to get him eating again. Then, as soon as he eats - switch to medicated food.

You might also try some live worms or fresh clam to elicit a feeding response. You can’t medicate them, but just to kind of “jump-start” him feeding, and then switch to the medicated foods or mix some in.
