Coral Beauty - Velvet, Ich or Something Else?

How can I try to avoid this in the future? Any treatment other than let her ride it out?

My water has had no ammonia spikes after my tank cycled. Nitrates have been a bit high but I have been doing water changes every few days to bring it down. Highest was about 40ppm prior to a fish being in. 30ppm was the highest it hit with the coral beauty in the tank. I used ammonium chloride fishless method. Added the coral beauty after the tank cycled. She was in before the clowns. Had a few hermit crabs and snails in before coral beauty. I stared feeding omega flake for about first week but switched to Mysis this past 5-6 days.

Is it safe to leave her in display tank. Getting her out requires a ton of work. I can do this if needed but want to leave this to last resort.

So long as it's lympho. It's safe to leave in DT. Try adding vitamin supplements like selcon or vitachem. It will go away. It's a virus and just like when we humans get viruses our natural immune system has to fight them off. Same for the fish. Just keeping pristine water and supplementing food may speed up the process.

Nitrates are currently 10ppm as of 9pm

What do you mean by supplementing food? This is what I am feeding now once a day.

Lymphocystis is a virus ... sort of like cold sores. There's no cure, per se, but in most cases, it's just unsightly for a little while and then goes away. Good quality diet, diverse and balanced, and pristine water conditions ought to have her right as rain soon enough.

Day 2 update

Nothing has changed which I am taking as not a bad thing. At least she is not getting worse. Still eating and very active. The two spots remain and seem to be the same size still.
