so ive noticed that my corals tend to be alot more open and just generally look happier in the mornings as compared ot lets say... mid-later afternoon. is there any reason for this? such as level swings or just lighting?

Think about what all happens on your tank during a day. Do your lights ramp up higher? Or do you have brighter/whiter bulbs that turn on around that time? Do you have a dosing pump that kicks on about then? Is that when you usually top off your water? Things like that... Things that change or happen around mid day or early after noon?
