Coral Box 300D Plus question

I just received my Coral Box 300D Plus Skimmer and on the power control after the speed settings the last setting says "wave"...can someone explain this to me? Thanks for your time
if it's anything like a powerhead, wave means it moves the water in the same way that the ocean would to create a "wave" like movement to help with water flow and helping to add oxygen and cycle unwanted materials through the water to bring them up to the surface to help remove it out of the skimmer. It is also beneficial to a lot of corals if that is your goal, if it's a salt water tank. If it's fresh water, then it will just help add flow and oxygen into the water, which is good. If I am understanding this right, I'm guessing that's what it means. I've never heard of a skimmer (thinking about a protein skimmer) that has a wave ability. I don't know if that is helpful, but that's my best guess.

I believe this is a carry over for where the same control box is used to control return pumps made by the same company.

On a protein skimmer, it just needs to be ignored. If used, it would randomly speed up and slow down, like it does with the return pumps. This is not needed on a skimmer and would knock the adjustments out of whack.

Thanks for the info!
