coral box back up battery 2 and apex

I just attached a coral box back up battery to my return pump. My question is will my apex controller still work to be able to turn on and off the return pump?

If the return pump is plugged into an outlet on the battery back up I do not see how the apex can work. If the apex cuts power then the pump will be on battery power.

Yea that's what I was thinking. So to turn off the return pump for feeding, cleaning etc. I would have to disconnect the back up from power. Thanks
