I have a CB D300 skimmer for 3 month now and I am quite please with the unit. Although I did notice after 3 months of use it had calcium buildup in the stator. With other skimmers I own which had Sicce pumps on them I didn’t have any issues with calcium buildup for up to 1 year of use.
Any idea why this is happening so soon compared to other pin wheel pumps.
My thought would have been due to tighter tolerances of the rotor and stator causing heat buildup.

Hi! It seems to be focused on one area. Do you have any markings etc. on the impeller in the same spot? The impeller chamber isn't fully sealed on the skimmer pumps, so some water can get in and calcify, as it is warmer there than the surrounding water.

No marking on the impeller.
Yes, there should be perhaps more water going in as if there is not enough then temps will rise and cause calcification.
