Thanks ThunderGoose. I guess they don't have any electronics embedded into the motor block like the WP and RW series pumps do. I had a couple WP-40 pumps that only lasted a little over a year, then sudden death. I had them on wave mode switching from full on to off a couple times a second 24/7. It's definitely the motor and the impeller assembly seems fine. I'm sure an electronic part embedded in the epoxy motor block failed. It just twitches one time when I give it power.
The wave thing seems like it was a passing fad, probably in large part because so much switching is hard on motors.
Anyone else using a QP pump willing to give the good the bad and the ugly?
