Coral Box QP series power head maintenance

After a couple months of use I went to clean my QP-5 today. I tried to take it apart and couldn't figure out how to take the "cage" off to get to the impeller and shaft. I twisted and pulled but didn't want to force anything. Anyone know how these pumps disassemble?

Gently pull the pivot points away from the cage. There are rubber washers that are easy to lose. Then the cage around the pump can be twisted open. HTh.

Really? I tried twisting pretty firm and it felt like I was going to break it!

Get your fingers under a pivot point and pull it until it clears the cage. You need to separate the positioning mechanism from the cage. Then the pump cage can be twisted apart. Not the best design, IMO.
