I just bought a new coral box WiFi 4 pump dosing pump package at the fragtoberfest event yesterday in CT and I’m having trouble with the fluid dripping back to the sump. I have the pump and containers mounted above the sump on the wall inside the reefer 450 cabinet, sorry I can’t mount it below the sump. Anyways no matter how many of these check valves I tried from coral box none of them seem to work. I’ve tried one on each line intake and outake, and even tried super gluing the check valves where they are put together and nothing stops the constant drip into the sump from the containers unless I physically pinch the line on the intake which tells me the check valves are junk. Does anyone else have this problem? Everyone was bagging hard on the bumble magus at the show and everyone swore by the coral box. Thanks

I think you just answered your own question ...
“I have the pump and containers mounted above the sump on the wall inside the reefer 450 cabinet, ”
If you can get the containers lower you should erase this problem ..

If you have any container above the output, it will back siphon no matter what you do. You need to get the container lower then the output line. Its like using a bucket for your ato that is higher then your output line, it will back siphon when the pumps kick on.

There’s just no way I can do that the sump is on the floor, a check valve working correctly will stop the back siphon I hear people are using the red air line check valves from petsmart I’ll give that a try

I can’t get the containers lower no room

The check valve is for the reverse problem.

Since you need liquid to get to the sump a check valve stops the liquid from going in the opposite direction of the sump. If you install the check valve in reverse; pumping the liquid through the line will close it.

Ya I hear ya problem is all these check valves from coral box are cheap junk and leak allowing the siphoning to continue from containers to sump, o well I’ll buy some of those airline check valves and let you guys know how it goes so frustrating!

Wait it’s not going to work either way unless I mount the containers below the drip holder, how do I see other cabinets with the containers above the discharge line?

Maybe they are pumping into the overflox.

You can't put the containers outside the stand behind the tank.?

I use a seperate cabinet next too my tank ..
