I'm sure a lot of you have seen the frag packs I've posted lately and have gotten some responses about packs being too big and pack being too small. Not too expensive but either too many frags so its out of your price range or too little frags to justify shipping. so I wanted your input what size packs do you like to see to justify shipping? what is the price point your looking for? I understand there is no clear answer for this as we all have different preferences but i want a wide view and understanding of what y'all are looking for. :) all input is greatly appreciated!

One thing I have learned from the time I worked with allot of customers is that you can never please the public. At least not completely, ever.

I get that for sure! Thanks for the input! I am just trying to not assume everybody is like me I like large packs that make shipping almost a non existent cost and I know not everyone is like that so trying to learn other preferences too. So i guess I'm trying to please as many as possible:p

I am looking for 150-200 range...I am not an expert so I can't justify spending 300+ on a couple frags, if I was more confident then I would

I have bought two packs on here in the last month and I can say, better quality than any big name retailer out there...I have been screwed by pests/unwanted algae so I will only buy from people on here now

Sad but it seems people who have their own display tanks take better care of their frags and what they are selling

so so true

I have and will pay for a single coral frag, even if it's not expensive, and justify the shipping costs if it's something I really want and cannot find locally. That being said, I am of the opinion that if the pack is good, I will buy it if it's within budget. I feel that packs around $200-300 shipped with good quality pieces would be pretty easy to sell and most would be able to come up with that.

Hope you get what you're looking for out of this thread, but as already mentioned it's hard to please everyone. Maybe you should create a "Make your own pack" thread in the future and list already cut frags to choose from.

Your packs are very reasonably priced Jared...If I knew why I had a bacterial bloom right now, I would buy that labor day sps pack for 70+ shipping

thanks for the input. A make your own will be in the future for sure once I have enough colonies to post a list of 20+ frags to choose from

Here's one. Think of it this way. We all love coral and some corals more than others right? We all have different ideas and thoughts on how the prices of corals should be. In order for a coral to be known as hard to get or rare it has to be sold really expensive so that a certain amount of people can get it. Like a bounce. If you sold a bounce for $150 then you'd have whole bunch of people buying it right? And then it would be in the trade so much it's gonna turn into a $20 shroom. Just like the red hornets zoas. Neptunes aquatics in San Jose, California had gotten them from someone. They were called Devils Aura. Bet you didn't know that. Anyways, someone had stollen them from the shop and Robert I think the owner of Neptunes said if you give them back we won't press charges. So they gave them back. Red hornets (Devils Aura) were originally anywhere from $300-$400 a single polyp. This was back in 2009 I believe. Look now. They are about $5-$15 a polyp. So what this means if this guy lowers the price on his packs then a bunch of people will buy them. Then grow them and sell them less than they bought them for and eventually will become close to worthless.

On point analysis of how it works. I am still collecting my "signature pieces" they will be released at higher prices then these normal packs. These are all pretty average stuff that is already readily available on the market. I like getting stuff out there for cheep because it's about the coral and the hobby! Do I like making a little money on top? Of course! Could I make more if I stuck to your average retailers prices? Most likely. But for now it's more about sharing the hobby with my R2R family:) I really hate how the hobby is all about how much a coral costs instead of how beautiful it is! again some more "signature" corals with signature price tags will be coming out soon.

The fact that a coral can be considered "close to worthless" because it did cost a whole pay check makes me sick. I love the beauty of the corals not the "street credit" of spending $500 on one little ******* frag! (Not calling you out specifically I'm calling out the hobby as a whole) so this is my mission statement I guess offer corals at prices your average guy can afford without breaking the bank or not taking his family out to dinner for a month.

It's fine how Much u think I payed for this?

I to look at the coral for what it is. As I do have some signature pieces, but some of my best looking ones I picked up the lfs as brown or white frags. Way overpriced for what that were.

I've helped numerous people out new to the hobby. Hooked em up with some really nice pieces for way under retail value. I guess I like seeing the smiles on people's faces.
