coral burns from light?

i am still having troubles in the frag tank. i am thinking some of what i attributed to voltage might be a result of uv burns or just too intense lighting. corals are ~5" under water. i have a SE 400w reeflux 20k 14" from surface. what are the symptoms?

Bart is it at the tips? I have a friend that is having this issue with metal halide too all his acros are getting burn tips. And all his param are stable.

no mostly the "top" of the bodies
