I was not expecting that !!!!!
So my question .. was it bleached when I got it .. or has it just morphed ?

It colored up. How long between the time you received it to coloring up? Most likely shipping and transportation aggravated it.

I took this pic in July, and I recently moved this frag up higher. It now has better Polyp Extension, but is also changing from green to a BRIGHT lavender purple over the last two weeks. I think I prefer the purple too! Somewhat like a Purple Bonzai, but not the same either.

OK then please ignore what I said I'm wrong. I will let the more experienced people advise you. But I'm happy you have this good problem with a happy polyp extending coral.

To be honest I can’t say .. because I had never noticed the color change before !!! But I buy most of my corals from private dealers and pick them up my self .. so they are never out of a tank for more than an hour at most ..

Why are you wrong ?? Nothing you said was wrong .. don’t be so hard on yourself .. :D

Oohhh I have been dosing Fe a few times over the last couple of months I wonder if that has anything too do with it ..

It can take a month or two for a coral too adjust and acclimate too a new tank .. most of the corals I’ve bought this year have probably nearly all come from tanks with t5 or t5 hybrids lighting .. I have 3 Chinese black boxes above mine ... plus some were on Red Sea or drs or triton .. there’s so many factors I guess that we forget about when we purchase a new coral we want or like .. then we put them in our tanks and then expect them too be the same as when and where purchased from ... which in most cases is never the same .. but very fascinating .. I always try and pay attention too a tank and how they run them when i go too buy.. what are their parameters.. flow lighting ..

Seems like good problems to have your coral evolve in color like that and increased polyp extension. How are your parameters. Kh, CA, No3,po4. Iron effects for for sure. Have you ever done a triton test?

I do a triton test every 2 months , I’m also dosing triton other methods 15 ml per day at the moment...
Parameters
Alk 8dkh

Mag 1380

Po4. 0.08
Sg .. 35ppt

I keep mine all around the same, but have had my Calcium in the 460 range the last few months. I changed to Fritz Reef Pro as well around the same time. Here is the coral this morning, that is changing on me like you. Like others are saying...pretty cool problem if you ask me. As long as my corals happy I'll be happy. Watching corals turn "Flourescent" in the Chasing Corals doc wasn't such a happy moment.

Your responses to me indicate you run a tight ship and are detail oriented. Bonus your across are happy as indicated by color changes and polyp extension. I think your first move colored them up and your second move higher and closer to the light made them happier as you indicated and more light made them lighter with the addition of iron. Especially if they were previously getting blasted under a t5/led hybrid. I run a t5/led hybrid and lightened my corals to an unattractive look because of too much light and to little nutrients. Anyway cheers and great job coloring up acros with stable tank conditions under black boxes..kudos to you!

Thanks guys for the compliments !!!
Her s a video of my full tank too see !!
