Coral closing up after maintenance?!

Help! I did my first water changes after adding my first hammer coral. I got it 5 days ago. When I was doing maintenance (everything that requires putting hands in tank to make it clean) and noticed that my hammer closed all the way up with it’s feeders out. Is that normal? Is it just trying to get all the “food” out of the water?

How long has it been closed? Probably just got disturbed and will open up again in a few hours.

Make sure you don't have anything on your hands (i.e. soaps, chemicals etc.) that could contaminate the water. Let us know if you think that's a risk.
