So for my first reef I would like to do a mixed reef with the fallowing species in a 40 gallon long

Duncan's
Torch
Lobo brain coral
Plate coral
Blastommusa
Utter chaos zoa
Hornet zoa
Cornbred god of war paly
Silver Xenia
Toadstool leather

Am I being to ambitious and are these species compatible

I think you would be fine with those plus some. The torch can grow fast and have long sweepers so give it some room. It will sting other coral as will the lobo. You should have plenty a room for these.
 
I have a 40b and have most of these and a lot more.
 
also I am going to get a dwarf golden moray along with some other smaller fish

Could water quality become an issue even with weekly 25 percent pwc's

Also even though I have experience in freshwater this is my first saltwater tank ever
 
Water quality can always be an issue. Just take it slow and keep up on your water testing.
 
So looking at what I read scans change color depending on spectrum the leds I'm getting I can control the spectrum of light what light spectrums do i need the most of for best coral growth
