Am I right in thinking corals only really consume carbonates during the photo period?

Probably depends on which coral but looks to be 70% light, 30% dark in my tank. Now, if the consumption in the light comprises 30% dark consumption, 40% (70% depending on your point of view) direct photosynthetic related consumption, dunno.
