Coral delivery, are they dead?

I never order coral online since I have a "dealer" I trust. My husband ordered some for me and was very excited. I got the delivery and right out of the box the smell hit me. All bags are clear but one, (lavender acro, which is paper white and in smelly cloudy water), a maze coral seems to have a weird film on it. How do I tell what is dead and what is dying?

The first one certainly looks dead, it looks like its bleached. The second, maze coral looks alright. The film is just mucous which they tend to have a lot of especially when stressed from shipping. Hopefully the place you bought them from has a DOA policy which usually includes taking pics (like you have) and notifying them about the dead coral.

Yea sorry the acro is dead. No skin left on it. The maze might be ok. We're the bags in box cold or hot?. A cooler temp in my experience is better than to warm. Especially on acros. Also sends pics to the vendor asap so he or she can see the corals.

Let the seller know ASAP. Most want a picture of dead livestock right away to get a refund.

Thanks, I dipped the acro anyway but it is definitely dead. I have another maze and it never looked like that when stressed. The zoas look ok so far. The bags were cold, so was the box.

I have to say I'm sad, was looking forward to the acro, hubs got me 2 and the company shorted me 1 as well. I emailed them pictures, hopefully they resolve it quickly.
