Hey everyone. Does dipping corals kill ich velvet etc? Or just hitchhikers? I’m thinking of ordering some more corals soon before the weather gets too cold and want to make a plan on how to quarantine them
Thanks

Dippng corals doesn't kill off ich or velvet encysted on the stony portions of the corals or their plugs. It only takes out most of the other pests on the corals.

It is a good practice to remove any plugs that came with the coral and replace with new plugs since that's the major place for ich and velvet to be encysted.

I am starting a separate coral qt tank this week and will qt them for 76 days minimum months ago something brought in velvet and I never want that to happen again!

Hitchhikers.
Copper kills parasites and doing FALLOW kills them also breaking their life cycle
