Coral eating a hermit cab

I am not sure if my post went through earlier. If it did sorry for the repost. I have only been doing saltwater for 6months now. Got a scoly about a week ago and woke up today to find it eating a hermit crab. I am sure this is normal but was wondering if the shell will hurt it. Thanks for any advice. I am including a picture as well.

Yup, your other post went through.
Nice scolly, great color, but as you see, they can easy consume anything meaty.
I would expect he will push out the shell after dinner.

If your crab molted, could have just eaten the molt. Lots of corals will do this

If you look closely you can see the actual shell the hermit lives in. I think that’s what the OP is concerned about

That is actually quite common. He'll spit out the shell when he's done.
