Has anyone else had problems with emerald crabs munching on corals? First it was my chalice..The crab destroyed it...Last night caught him shredding my button polyps.....Needless to say he had to go...Any crabs that are truly reef safe?

Yeah, emeralds will do that sometimes. As far as algae eating crabs hermit's are the only ones that definitely won't eat your Coral. In terms of ornamentals pom pom crabs as well as porcelain crabs can be kept without any worries in a reef.

The problem with crabs is that they are all opportunistic and in an absence of other food will prey on what is available and in a reef tank that is usually Coral.
