I bought 2 new coral for my tank which only has a healthy anemone currently
However the coral have turned brown rather than pinkish when bought and started to break is there anything I can do to save them? Image of one below

Is there any phosphorescent patches under blue lights? Looks like you lost it. Did you dip it in something prior to to putting it in? Need tank parameters.

It is a toadstool/elephant leather coral
Bought with a bolt coral which has also gone brown and cracked aswell
The fish and the anemone that have been in the tank which is a year old are all very heathy
In terms of water Params I will do the tests and post them
I get the salt water from where the fish/coral are bought so there shouldn’t be anything wrong
The size of the tank is 148cm by 50cm by 50cm - so a fairly large tank

I wouldn't give up yet leather corals often go through a weird peeling stage sometimes closed up for days also I try to move it may be down low in the tank for the first couple of days or until you see a change definitely check your parameters

I'd throw them out and drop in some carbon. Jmo

Better pictures might help see the coral in question

My test kit is abit old but The params for the tank Are -

Ph- 8.2-8.4
Nitrate- 10-15
Nitrite- 0
Alkalinity- 2.5-2.9
Ammonia- 0

I agree with mcdrichj ! that ALK is rock bottom if the test kit is right .....should at the lowest 7.0 . Would retest how old is the kit ?

Sorry I didn’t make it clear
Yes the alkalinity I measured was in Meq/L
The test kit is over 5 years old

in regards to the bubbles they are just from a pump to oxygenate the tank more
