Anything encrusting if you are looking for it to cover the vertical surface.
If you are looking for coral that work well PLACED on a vertical surface, plating coral are good for this because they grow out rather than up. So things like plating montipora, red planet, efflo, etc.
Just know that plating coral will create shadow areas beneath them.
