I have a 4 ft tank 55 gallon that I want to turn into a frag tank. I just built a 36 gallon sump for it. Not a great job but hopefully do the trick. But my question is can I split the tank and breed mysis shrimp in part of it? I dont need a 4 ft frag tank so I was thinking about doing that. What's so far for the sump is 2 4 inch 220 micron socks. I have a skimmer section a refugium and a extra part for maybe like a hospital or something else. I have 2 2ft 4 bulb aqua life programmable lights with 1 10k white light and 3 blue lights in them. Plan on building a 3 tear system for different lighting. I'm going to not run any sand in bottom of tank only
in refugium and extra section. I have a few left over power heads. I'm doing a hob overflow. And I'm going to hard line the plumbing.. so number 2 question is 3 blue and 1 10k light right for a frag tank. How long should lights be on for adequate coral growth. What are some goot additives u have besides calcium. I also have reef fusion 2 part for it. Also phytoplankton I know about. And lastly can it be done for a mysis shrimp section for in this tank. If so how would I prevent them from entering coral section. Can I use a regular filter in mysis section and my sump for other section? I know its alot of questions but trying to get this thing running and start cycling soon.

Are you planning to drill the 55g or use a HOB overflow? Most 55g tanks are tempered and can’t be drilled, just figured I’d mention it since that might mess up your plans...

Hob I just have to get the rest of the money together to finish the set up of it. But and unsure of anything else that's y I asked all of these questions lol.
