Oh darn. I figured the birdsnest was gone. Oh well. If you frag it again at a later date, let me know. I have been wanting to add a Birdsnest.

Also have about some Purple Stylophora frags if anybody is interested $20

Hey Hawkinsrgk,
Im new to the hobby, but I've read that birds nest (even though being an SPS), are relatively hardy, and don't require as much attention as most SPS. Is this true? I have a good collection of leathers, euphyllia, and mushrooms, kenya trees, but looking to get some more variety. And those birds nest look awesome, and I would be interested, if you think that i have the setup.

Hi EzCheez

Of the SPS that I have had, This birdsnest seems to be very hardy. They are pretty much known for being one of the easier SPS corals to keep.

On your other question, I don't have enough information to have an opinion. Can you give me more information on your setup and I will give you my honest opinion? Also, I am hoping other people will chime in as well to give there opinion. I would really hate to tell you that I think it will be ok, the coral dies and you feel that I was being deceptive.

So with that being said, can you give some information on the following

What size tank do you have?
Do you have a sump? What size?
What do you keep your parameters at?

Ammonia -
Nitrite -
Nitrate -
Temp -
Phosphate -
Cal -
Alk -

Other parameters that you test for (For example Magnesium)

What is your turnover rate in your display
What kind of lighting do you have (LED, T5, MH, combo, etc)

Any other information that you can give about your setup.

Another thing to keep in mind is that other people with more experience will have different opinions than I do and it will come down to you deciding if you think it is ok or not.

For example I know two guys that put SPS in there tanks that was just setup and the water had just enough time to clear. I would absolutely never do this, but they did it and there corals are doing very well.

Hammer coral has been sold. Thanks RJ and nice to meet you.

Still have some neon tip birdsnest available

Thanks
Randy

A couple of things

Got some red millepora frags - $20

I may have a cali tort - $30
The reason that I say this is because it was sold to me as a cali tort, but I am not 100% sure that is the exact species. When looking online, I see probably 4 variations of this coral.

Starry Night Acropora - $20

A couple of pearlberry frags but they are spoken for

Still have some Neon tip birdsnest and purple stylo, but you already have those.

Thanks for asking
Randy
