On WWC grafting thread with their awsome corals...I became pretty interested in coral grafting,as i had never heard of it before, I was just wondering what exactly do you or the corals do to graft..

I know the "baby/larvae" coral,i think, have to pass from one another and if you have 2 of the same coral but diff. colors and they eat the larvae it begans to develop that color of the parent coral???? Is that right?

Also i wanted to know is their anyway to encourage coral grafting?

Any other info. would be great

Thanks

I was growing chip's and slimer together for a while. That is all I am going to say.

Sounds Cool! so to know they are the same species exactly, do you have to find their scientific name?

o and they just grew together? haha.... im have a green cap and purple cap on the same frag plug, but they arent morphing/grafting ,they are growing together

Try Kraylen cap and one of your cap, it might work!

+ Montipora

= ??????

Experimentation- with proper research is well encouraged, however there are literally Hundreds of Montipora sp.
many have attempted to intergrow various caps Most unsuccessfully, yet grafting is on a completely
different level...

I, myself, have been gathering information on coral grafting and am considering a Blog on it.?#

We need to start extracting things from corals somehow and take it to the lab.

From what ive read all i know is once your corals release larvae the same type of corals has to eat them and then it begans to grow those colors...I just have no clue how you can encourage your corals to release larvae

You should take 2 cheap shrooms of diff colors, extract whatever from 1 and inject it in the other and see what happens????? ?? ? ??

I just thought of something with the shrooms if you figured out where they hold the "larvae" you could extract from there and inject it into the other one, your chance i think would be better.. .. ..

Still a little confused on coral grafting
