Hello! I have begun my trip into fragging and figured I would need a grow out tank for them...My main display is not expandable due to its placement, so I got all my spare parts and made a whole new system. IT has all clean water plus the 13 gallons of water from my recent nano build...infact, it is essentially a 55 gallon tank added to the falken nano build.
Basically it is this. A 5 gallon bucket for a sump with only a return bump and pond filter bio media that I had accidentally buried for a few months..but that is neither here nor there...
I have a solid 73 degree room temp and the water only increases to 74 with the Halide. Thus I shall not use a heater until winter.
The light is 400 watts.
THe pump is only 350ish gph...IT goes to the 55. There is one powerhead, maxi jet 600 directed to the bottom.
The overflow from the 55 goes to the 10 and into the sump.
I haven't added any corals but what were on the rock in the nano...not too worried a about a few xenia, and besides, they are hard to kill anyways.
just a start, will alter accordingly.
Any suggestions would be cool.
I don't use activators or anything...my main filtration on my display is sand rock and macro. and a skimmer on weekends.
I may do the same with this. ITs funny. I basically cloned my main setup on accident. OH well. worked so far.
Pictures SOON
