Got this clam about two years ago ... and then about a month ago I noticed a tiny little bump on it that looked green ..... in the past month it has grown from a tiny spot to the size of a marble and looks like it is starting to branch ..... amazing what shows up!!

Does it move? LOL!

Could very well be some type of coral but hard to tell.

Nope, doesn't move!! Pretty sure it is coral ..... hard, immobile, polyps ..... will be interesting to see what it grows into!

I have something on my big gold teardrop maxima too. Maybe we'll have the next big LE releases. Hahaha

i have about 40 zoas on one side of my maxima clam.don't know how it got there.

Looks like pocillapora. Do you have any in your tank? It is notorious for showing up in random parts of people's tanks. Very cool looking stuff! :)

Sounds like pocillipora is the general consensus ..... no, don't have any in my tank. Do have a stylo but it's purple .... so who knows how it arrived! Well, I'm actually looking forward to watching it grow and seeing what happens ....

Yes, it is a rarely seen coral, never before successfully grown in captivity ..... must have a symbiotic relationship with a clam of a certain size ..... we'll be rich!!! lol
