I'm certainly not trying to keep anyone up at night. Lol As far as survival of the fittest you also have to consider that many of the corals we keep don't come in contact with each other in the wild. Take lepto and zoas for example.

Oh I was just joking about the survival of the fittest thing. My honest opinion is the part where I mentioned that I don't treat all living things with the same regard. Plus I am probably a little on the heartless side. Everytime I kill a piece of Kenya tree I smile and do a little dance.

Thats sick! im having a heard time getting my ecrusting corals to grow. theyre not dying theyre just stagnant. super frustrating. any suggestions?

With one exception all of my encrusting corals are growing like crazy. My tank is a few years old and I keep my parameters as stable as possible, but other than that I don't have any advice to give.

Very possibly. I've had many corals that when first added don't do much and then once they start growing the grow quickly.

makes sense. My hammer and Duncan are growing like crazy, so are my mushrooms, and certain others. but then theres some that dont make sense why they dont seem happy. lol like my Xenia and GSP softies are dying off. makes no sense to me.

I have gsp that I've had for over a year and it has just now started to take off. I had xenia and it died, I believe it got smothered by a mushroom that was on the same piece of rubble when I bought it. My hammers and duncan grow but nothing incredibly quick.

I just dont get corals sometimes. Lol they definitely do whatever they feel like. Hahaha.

Very cool! I also vote to let the corals decide how to co-exist and you provide periodic update pics on this thread please Good chance the zoas will continue to grow away from the lepto and will be fine.

If it looks like the zoa will be completely wiped out I may frag of a polyp or two, but otherwise I probably won't intervene. I'll try to update in the future if I remember.
