What’s the average growth rate of a soft coral? I have several and just added some gsp how long tell they start to spread? I have utter chias and also a interstellar mushroom that I’ve had for 2 months and the utter have grown 1 head but my red people eaters have grown 4 in same time frame. Do they look good? I have 2 Chinese black boxes in my 180 gallon reef tank

Rule of thumb, the more expensive, the slower the growth.

They look great. Some grow insanely fast others grow slow. Once established gsp will grow quick I would isolate to an island. That way you can control it

i have it on my right side but i want it to grow covering my overflow any hints?

You might be able to get it to grow into craft canvas and zip tie it.

Thank you! I’m just worried that they aren’t having babies
I think the pictures look very good. I'm not sure I can comment on the growth rate exactly, but it seems like they take a few months for them to get totally settled in and happy, and after that is when things start exploding. I got about 10 nearly dead zoas on a frag once, and it seemed like it took a few months before they were completely happy just growing in place. Now, I have several hundreds of them growing over a good 10 inch section of rock. I can't really recall any one moment when I could see the zoas multiplying one by one. Even though it happened over 6 or 8 months, it really feels like one day you look at the zoas and realize there are hundreds... GSP you can definitely see it grow from day to day. If you glue some to a glass wall at the back of your aquarium, it'll be completely covered with GSP in 8 months.

Coral growth is a compounding effect. 2 polyps turns to 4 turns to 8 and so on. I will make one suggestion isolate the gsp to an island rock. It will take over and grow over everything. The pics look great keep up the good work!
