Hello fellow reefers, as the title says, I’m looking for a coral guide. More specifically if someone could create a thread explaining the different colony’s ect. I myself was looking for a good place to learn about corals but could not find a guide explaining the different species . Considering Reef2Reef is amazing and I would love it to be the only website I need to knowledge and discussion, I would love it if someone could create one or respond to this thread with some knowledge so I could put it all together and create my own. This seems to be the only thing this site lacks and would like to change that. Thanks

Might be long overdue … we could use a primer
I could see someone (a Newbie) seeing a frag called “tenius” and not realizing its a species name belonging to a genus
…same goes for abbreviations like “cap” et…
Also confusing is growth types amongst the same genus and/or species: table, branching, encrusting, plating et..
expect little help from frag vendors …IMO they only add to the confusion

Edit ADD: I would lover to see vendors start using a genus-species format and dispense with abbreviations like “Monti cap” et…
Also growth habits would be VERY useful and should be included/mandated in EVERY sales/product description i.e tabling, encrusting et et
