Hi all. I have a fairly new setup about 6 weeks up and running. I’m a super newby and do not even know the exact Names of the coral I have. I have 5 different ones that I got helped thru my LFS. 4 of the 5 seem to be doing great they open when the lights are on and get smaller when the lights are off.

My setup is a 65 with a HOB aquaclear 110, BakPak2 protein skimmer and 2 Prime AI 16 lights. With 2 wave makers for flow.

my water param is

Amonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 17
KH 214
Phosphate .3
Calcium 375
Ph 8.0
Magnesium 1216

I have pics of all 5 of them. Like I said I am super new and just seeing if they all look good and maybe ID what they are from y’all experts. One of them does not look good to me.

any help???

I’m sorry the first picture you showed us looks completely gone. The tank has been up and running for 6 weeks? The tank might be a tad young for them corals. But the other corals do not look too bad. How did the one look once placed in tank?

Can't tell what the first one is/was but it's looking pretty gone. 2nd pic is a trumpet/candy cane with aiptasia. 3rd is a torch, I think? 4th is pulsing xenia. Last pic I think is a goniopora. Nothing is looking super happy to be honest.

First one looks like a hammer coral, second is a candy cane coral, third is a torch coral.

The hammer does not look very good. It may already be dead or may me in too high of flow. it also has some diatoms or cyan growing on it. I would blow it off with a turkey baster or wave your hand over it to clean it off a bit and hope for the best.

I like your tank equipment, setup and lights.
Early for corals, but no biggie.
Do you plan on a refugium or algae scrubber to lower phosphate?
Maybe do water changes to reduce nutrients to about 1/2 that.

Oh yeah, the fourth one is a xenia. I was thinking elegance coral, but when I zoom in I can see that it's a xenia. Low flow is best for that one.

Phosphate is high, calcium a tad lower than most prefer, and alkalinity is very high if I'm correct that the conversion is about 12 dkh.

I would have to agree: tank may be too young for the less hardy corals. The first one looks like a goner, but I’ve been surprised before on what I thought was dead that eventually came back lol. I honestly didn’t have any luck with lps until my tank was atleast 7-8 months old. But I was like you and couldn’t wait. I had best luck with softies like paly’s/zoa’s and leathers. Even green star polys should do ok. It’s a bummer when they die and they aren’t cheap, so personally I would hold of on any lps corals until you reach the 6month mark it longer.
but I’m no expert lol, I can only speak from my own experience. Good luck my friend and HAPPY REEFING!

Thanks for all the feedback.
The Hammer was placed in with all the others and looked good to me up until yesterday when I posted. With in 24 hours it went from looking healthy to that. All the others remain the same.

I will not add any others for at least a month and monitor these.

thanks again.
